Established in 1997 as the mother company of Roya Development, Roya Group which has numerous subsidiaries engaged in various industries, including investment, Roya Developments, Oko Plan, and Tiba Company, was founded by the engineer Hisham Shoukry. 

In 2007, Roya Development was established as the real estate division of Roya Group.  

Later in March 2015, Pioneers Holding Group obtained a 77.6% majority share in Roya Developments. Thus, Pioneers Holding owns 77.6% of Roya, Engineer Hisham Shoukry owns 16%, and other investors own 6.4%.

With a working capital of 2 billion EGP and an investment of over 3 billion US dollars, the company is currently among the fastest expanding in the development and investment sectors. 

The company currently invests in 3.1 million square meters of landbank while housing 3300 families.
